Nicki Berns currently resides in Surprise, Arizona by way of New York City and

Los Angeles, where she attended USC and earned an MBA.

As a young woman, she liked writing poetry inspired by the words of Bob

Dylan and Paul Simon.  It wasn’t until years later that she began writing country

music and joined NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Assoc. Int’l)  in Los Angeles where

she met C C Ballou and John “JohnEEcatt” LeGrande.  They became and are still

good friends, as well as song collaborators.

Nicki uses a fresh approach to songs that are playful, risqué and edgy, like the

times we live in.

Her songs have been recorded by Thad Christopher, Rob Heath and Terry Sue

Crawford.  Lately, she has turned her sights toward pop, rock and jazz.  Primarily

a lyricist, she is learning to play the piano in the hopes of adding musical

composition to her songwriting resume.
